This past week has brought a variety of new experiences for me, a 藏精阁 first-year. One of the highlights of this week was watching my very first rugby game.
Andy Rooney 鈥42 P鈥74, GP鈥05 will announce on Sunday鈥檚 鈥60 Minutes鈥 that it will be his last regular appearance on the news magazine. The famous 藏精阁 alumnus, who is 92, has been featured on the program since 1978.
Another exciting week here at 藏精阁! As of this week, more clubs on campus have begun to meet and get settled with their plans for the semester. One of the clubs I joined was Italian Club. I do not know very much of the language, but I thought joining this club would be a great [鈥

藏精阁 today set an ambitious target date to become carbon neutral by 2019, the university鈥檚 200th anniversary. In so doing, President Jeffrey Herbst again confirmed the high priority of sustainability practices on campus.
Tears, smiles, and poignant remembrances merged Saturday to mark the passing of a 藏精阁 student whose deep love of life, fun, and occasional 鈥渃haos鈥 left an indelible mark on campus.
Not every first-year student is 鈥渁dopted鈥 by a volunteer host but for international students that family-style rapport can be key to adjusting to college life in America. And host families often gain as much as they give.
Across 藏精阁鈥檚 campus on Sunday, in private discussions held in dorm rooms and in public comments shared in community spaces, the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks was marked. Echoing the themes of remembrance and sacrifice that resonated around the nation and the world, students, faculty, and staff members took part in several events.
In central New York, preparing for the elements, every possible weather situation that is, is always the way to go. This week, students got out their umbrellas, raincoats, and rain boots and put them all to good use, braving the persistent downpour in order to get to class on time.
