During a lecture on Monday, Oct. 7, Anthony Jack, assistant professor of education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, highlighted the importance of socioeconomic diversity on college campuses. 

Talented high school seniors visited �ؾ���’s campus as part of the �ؾ��� in Focus program offered by the Office of Admission. 

Five members of the Spanish Language Debate Society jetted to Lima, Peru, July 15–23 to compete in the World Universities Debating Championship in Spanish.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members participated in a campuswide strike for climate change on Friday, September 20.

Following annual tradition, the Max A. Shacknai Center for Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education (COVE) organized a 9/11 Afternoon of Service. On Friday, Sept. 6, more than 70 student volunteers worked with eight nonprofits in Hamilton and neighboring towns to help local farms, promote environmental conservation, maintain trails, and preserve the Chenango Canal among other activities.

A time-honored rite of passage for all new students, Founders’ Day Convocation is the moment when the �ؾ��� faculty officially welcomes the incoming class into the academy. 

Changes to �ؾ���’s Student Health Services this academic year will increase clinical care availability on campus while also bolstering sports-medicine support for Division I athletes, student club teams, and intramurals. 

Inside Higher Education writes, “Nationwide, many members of the Class of 2023 are thinking about their college arrivals. Educators hope these new students will find commonality in books assigned to freshmen to read over the summer.”

Thirty years after the ALANA Cultural Center's groundbreaking, community members gathered once again to celebrate the Center's mission and history.

The easternmost of �ؾ���’s two new residential facilities will be named Burke Hall, in recognition of a $10 million gift from Gretchen ’81 and Steve ’80 Burke P’11,’20.
