Caroline Karnosh ’21 becomes a certified EMT

At National EMS Institute, Caroline Karnosh ’21 participated in an 18-day intensive EMT course that met Monday through Friday from 9–5. Following the course, she took the National EMS exam to become certified to volunteer as an EMT.

During this course, Caroline gained the necessary classroom hours and clinical experiences to become an EMT. She was responsible for gaining the skills and knowledge needed to respond to emergency situations including CPR, medicine administration, and other emergency medical procedures.

After this experience, Caroline is considering a career-goal change to the field of medicine. This course helped her explore the health care system and field of emergency medicine while gaining the ability to serve her community as a volunteer EMT.
