Writers conference includes sessions open to public

Back to All Stories

More than 50 people are taking part in the annual that begins Sunday.

The conference includes a wide range of free lectures and readings that are available to the general public.

Conference director Matt Leone said he was particularly pleased that 20 participants who had taken part in past conferences decided to return for this year’s event.

“I think it shows the value of the workshops and of the conference, and just as importantly the sense of a true writers community that we have developed here,” he said.

Among the new additions to this year’s conference is a workshop about writing novels for young adults, led by Jennifer Smith ’03, author of The Comeback Season and You Are Here. And Dan Wald ’82 will lead a shop talk on digital publishing and the dramatic changes it has brought to the publishing world.
