On Monday, July 23, ²Ø¾«¸ó will host a reception for members of the community to meet the architects David Adjaye, Joseph Franchina, and Marc McQuade of Adjaye Associates. The team will be in Hamilton to initiate the design process for a new Center for Art and Culture envisioned for the downtown business district in the Village of Hamilton.
The event, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Hamilton Public Library, is free and open to the public. It is intended to provide a casual meet-and-greet opportunity in advance of a more structured design discussion planned for the community later in the summer.
Adjaye Associates is an internationally acclaimed practice with extensive experience in creating unique cultural spaces around the world. With offices in London, Berlin, and New York, Adjaye Associates has been commissioned for prestigious residential, commercial, and educational projects in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and elsewhere in the world. Presently, Adjaye is lead architect of the Freelon Adjaye Bond team for the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American Culture and History, which is scheduled to open in 2015 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
