Last week proved to be busy and exciting, with plenty of events and lectures to attend around campus. Here’s what’s up this week!
On Monday, join ²Ø¾«¸ó’s Black Student Union for , a day to celebrate solidarity between everyone. The day begins with a speak-out on the Chapel steps at 12:15 p.m., where President Jeffrey Herbst will be in attendance to say a few words on diversity at ²Ø¾«¸ó.
At 7:45 p.m. there will a candlelit walk from the Harlem Renaissance Center to ALANA Cultural Center, where there will be a dinner for participants to discuss the themes of the day in a welcoming environment.
Learn about healthy eating Korean-style on Tuesday! At 11:30 a.m., the Korean Student Association is holding a fun interactive workshop in the Coop media lounge. Participants can choose their own ingredients to make their own Kimbops, or Korean sushi rolls.! To add a healthy new recipe to your lunch menu, be sure to get there early before the rolls run out. University Theater presents Head over to Brehmer Theater at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday to see the show under the direction of Professor Adrian Giurgea. A 1986 play based on Euripides’ Bacchae, A Mouthful of Birds is a parable about women and violence, escapes, and self-discovery. With three chances to watch, be sure not to miss it!
The Philosophy Department Lecture Series will present on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Head over to Hascall Hall to hear Professor Alexander George, the Rachel and Michael Deutch Professor of Philosophy at Amherst College, speak. Stick around after the talk to participate in a discussion.
